🎣 Both bites and fish on this occasion
After this morning’s session, I kept the gear in the car, which was on the drive at home.
A few hours later (the days are very short at the moment), I was back on the road and looking forward to another angling session.
I decided to fish the pond that, in a recent session, I had a bite but I lost due to getting tangled in branches that were on the bottom.
Well, this time I not only had bites but also, more importantly, fish on the bank.
Just small roach but, after a lean spell, it was certainly nice to get back among the fish.
Tackle, bait and tactics
Greys Prodigy TX 12’ rod. Shimano 3500M reel. Maxima Chameleon 4lb line.
Drennan 1.2g waggler. Drennan Super Specialist size 14 hook.
Fished a couple of rod-lengths from the bank in six-feet of water, I presented three red maggots / two white maggots over red/white maggots and brown crumb beneath overhanging trees.
Nature notes
Five very noisy and very active ring-necked parakeets in trees on the far bank before flying off at dusk to roost.
