🎣 A great sunrise but what about the fishing?
Regardless of the fact that I was at a game yesterday evening, I was still up this morning while it was still dark.
There was the beginning of a great sunrise though, as I made my way off the drive to a small pool.
It’s been very tough going of late and that continued this morning.
I was there for a couple of hours and I didn’t even get a flicker on the float.
Tackle, bait and tactics
Greys Prodigy TX 12’ rod. Shimano 3500M reel. Maxima Chameleon 4lb line.
Drennan 1.2g waggler. Drennan Super Specialist size 14 hook.
Fished a couple of rod-lengths from the bank in six-feet of water, I presented three red maggots / two white maggots over red/white maggots and brown crumb.
Nature notes
A silent ring-necked parakeet in flight.
Grey heron low in flight over the pool.
As soon as I finished, a pair of magpies, a moorhen and a robin moved in to mop up any bait on the ground.
