🎣 A nice chub from the River Severn and a woodcock at late dusk
I’ve been intending to fish the middle Severn for a while now, in pursuit of chub. However, it’s either been a very busy work schedule or the river itself has been out of condition that has stopped me.
Today though, nothing came in the way of me and Sabrina.
Although not on my doorstep, nevertheless the Severn isn’t that far away. It was exactly thirteen miles from door to river.
Plus, they were rural miles as well, so easy ones. Apart from passing over three A roads, the journey was all B roads and lanes.
I was getting small fish plucks from the off and then, in late dusk, I caught an excellent chub. Fishing for a good hour plus into dark, I had no more fish.
It’s a fine line sometimes isn’t it? Always good when you’re on the right side of it though.
It weighed 4-10-4.
