🎣 A late angling session and the first fish of November 2024 on the bank
As far as work is concerned, it feels more like full-time at the moment, as opposed to the reality of being semi-retired.
Therefore, it came as no surprise when, this morning I didn’t wake up fully until 10.00 a.m.
As far as fishing was concerned though, it didn’t have any negative effect on my plans, which included going in the afternoon anyway.
I fished a small pool, one that has featured regularly in my blog posts for a number of months now.
I’m a great believer that if you’re enjoying something keep doing it.
I was wondering how the venue would fish because, based on previous experience, it is much more productive early in the morning rather than late in the afternoon.
Therefore, I was very pleased to get a small perch on the bank within a few minutes of casting out.
Although I did have a few enquiries, come the end of the session it proved to be the one that saw me just on the right side of the line.

Tackle, bait and tactics
Greys Prodigy TX 12’ rod. Shimano 3500M reel. Maxima Chameleon 4lb line.
Drennan 1.2g waggler. Drennan Super Specialist size 8 hook.
I fished a couple of rod-lengths out in six-feet of water.
I loose fed prawns and fished prawn on the hook.
Nature notes while fishing
Three sightings of a grey wagtail (probably the same bird) around the pool.
Two noisy ring-necked parakeets flew from woodland alongside the pool and out across open land.
