A change of angling plan, a trilogy of disasters and talking fishing on radio

🎣 Small pool roach fishing

The change of approach that I hinted at in my last blog post, meant that this morning, although still on a pool, I was fishing for roach with bread.

I did catch and, although nothing big on the bank, nevertheless I enjoyed the session.

Ultimately, when it comes to angling, that’s the most important box to tick.

You can follow the session in the video.

🪱Tackle, bait and tactics

Greys Prodigy TX 12’ rod. Shimano 3500M reel. Maxima Chameleon 4lb line.

Drennan 1.2g waggler. Drennan Super Specialist size 14 hook.

Fishing a couple of rod lengths from the bank in six-feet of water, I presented bread over bread mash and a small amount of brown crumb.

🦢 Nature notes

Grey wagtail in flight across the pool landing on the far bank.

Two calling ring-necked parakeets in flight.

I heard them first, and then I saw two ravens passing overhead, just above tree top level.

📻 Fishing and Welsh football on Bayside Radio

It’s a familiar Monday morning pattern, as far as I’m concerned.

I go fishing and then once back home, I shower and change, and get ready for my weekly chats with Jeff Pearson.

He presents the afternoon show on Colwyn Bay’s Bayside Radio, and we record a fishing slot for Thursday afternoon and Welsh football chat a day later.
