Practising for my retirement, when I go angling every day, by going fishing twice today
🎣 A late roach session in the rain
Although the days are short at the moment, nevertheless I managed to get two sessions in today.
Having said that, they were both short.
However, it’s all about quality of time not quantity, and first thing in the morning and last thing in the afternoon are the best times to be out there, generally speaking.
Due to the overcast conditions, I ended up with less time on the bank than I had actually planned for.
However, I caught that’s the important thing.
It was just a small pool, so you always have to take the size of the fish into account rather than a stand-alone weight.
🪱 Tackle, bait and tactics
Greys Prodigy TX 12’ rod. Shimano 3500M reel. Maxima Chameleon 4lb line.
Drennan 1.2g waggler. Drennan Super Specialist size 14 hook.
Fishing a couple of rod lengths from the bank in six-feet of water, I presented bread over bread mash and a small amount of brown crumb.
🦢 Nature notes
Two resident moorhens on the pool.
