🎣 Yesterday morning I was in Italy, tonight I will be in Wales, and sandwiched in between, I went fishing in England

It’s a busy period at the moment, as far as work is concerned.

However, I’m still able to squeeze some fishing in when possible.

That was the case this morning, as I was on the bank at first light, flicking a float just off the rod tip, fishing prawn in pursuit of perch.

You can follow the session via the accompanying video.

Tackle, bait and tactics

Greys Prodigy TX 12’ rod. Shimano 3500M reel. Maxima Chameleon 4lb line.

Drennan 1.2g waggler. Drennan Super Specialist size 10 hook.

A sharp drop-off from the margins, so fishing in six-feet of water, just off the rod tip.

I loose fed prawns but no brown crumb on this occasion.

The reason for that was to create minimum disturbance, therefore hoping to keep the pike at bay.

Plus, baiting exclusively with prawn, I also hoped to avoid the shoals of small roach, which also act as a magnet for the aforementioned predator.

Nature notes while fishing

I didn’t see any but on two occasions I heard ring-necked parakeets in flight.
