🎣 Canal lure fishing on the way to work
It’s been a long time since I’ve done any lure fishing, but it’s always been at the back of my mind, and that’s exactly what I did on the way to work for a game of football.
The great thing about this type of angling is that you need minimal gear and you can keep it hidden away in the boot of your car while you do other things.
The canal in question that I fished is the Montgomery Canal.
It’s a very narrow waterway and, combined with the dense vegetation along both banks, from a photograph it looks like a small river.
Even when you’re there in person, apart from the locks that give the game away, it also looks like a slow-moving river.
I actually pass over it on the way to work, so the detour itself is about ten yards of extra driving.
