🎣 Very wet and very windy but the fishing continues
I often communicate through my blog posts, the principle that you can’t allow external conditions over which you have no control, to determine how you live your life.
That includes fishing and this session was a prime example.
The rain forecast for the morning was 89-98% and the windspeed 41-42 mph.
To say it was wet and windy was putting it mildly.
Due to the conditions though, although it didn’t stop me from fishing, it did determine where I went.
I chose a pond that I know is sheltered from the excesses of the wind in particular, due to its location.
I also knew that the venue was going to be a challenge and that proved to be the case.
In two hours I didn’t get a single bite.
It was the only place I know though where I could present a bait in the strong wind.
At least I went fishing and I produced a video as well, even if it was only a short (quite literally).

Tackle, bait and tactics
Greys Prodigy TX 12’ rod. Shimano 3500M reel. Maxima Chameleon 4lb line.
Drennan 1.2g waggler. Drennan Super Specialist size 8 hook.
I fished a couple of rod-lengths from the bank in 3 feet of water, beneath overhanging trees.
I loose fed prawns and fished prawn on the hook.
Nature notes while fishing
I heard ring-necked parakeets but didn’t see any.
Hardly anything in flight due to the wind.
