🎣 🌞 Quality over quantity on a small pond, climate change and 1,097 weeks today

📹 Fishing and thoughts

I’m enjoying my small pond fishing very much indeed, so much so that I kept the gear in the car from the morning session, and returned late afternoon for a second pop at the venue.

Continuing to fish with prawn on a large hook, naturally it is a case of not so many fish as when you go with a size 18 and a single maggot.

However, quality over quantity suits me perfectly, especially when you take a look at the fish in the lead image of the video.

It was quite early in the session, the second cast to be precise, and it went very quiet indeed after that, which I assumed meant that a pike had once again entered the swim.

My assumptions were proved to be correct because I saw an Esox lucius beneath the surface of the water.

I touched it with my rod tip and it disappeared, but then it was back again a couple of minutes later.

I did manage a nice roach though in the remainder of the session.

Tackle: Greys Prodigy TX 12’ rod. Shimano 3500M reel. Maxima Chameleon 4lb line. Drennan 1.2g waggler. Drennan Super Specialist size 10 hook.

Nature notes: Song thrush feeding on grass next to the car.

There’s more on climate change (what are your thoughts?) and the explanation of 1,097 weeks in the video.
