🎣 Tench fishing and starting the new month how I intend to carry on
My last angling session of June was in pursuit of tench on a lake, and a day later I kicked off a new month doing the same.
It was another early start and, while I waited for the kettle to boil at home, I watched two stock doves feeding in the garden outside the kitchen window.
Would the tincas be on the munch though? That was the question I asked myself, as the fishing on the venue has been slow of late.
With feeding bubbles at a minimum, I knew that it was going to be a difficult session.
However, an hour into it, and I struck into the tench that you can see in the video.
Then I had a second fish as I was beginning to pack away.
I fished a grain of corn over brown crumb and sweetcorn at twenty metres.
Tackle: Fox Barbel Special 1.5 test curve rod and an Okuma Zeon reel. 6lb Maxima Chameleon, with a six-inch hook-length created by a small shot and an 8mm bead. Above that was a 1/2 ounce lead. Size 10 Drennan Super Specialist hook. Bait was a single grain of corn.
