📺 The Girl On The Pier (1953)
A British black-and-white 1953 movie, The Girl On The Pier tells the story of Rita Hammond (played by Veronica Hurst) who meets Nick Lane (played by Ron Randell).
They flirt and she’s very surprised when he meets her husband, Joe Hammond (played by Campbell Singer) and they already know each other.
It turns out that there’s money involved from a previous robbery and Nick wants his share from Joe.
However, Joe Kills Nick, and he is then chased by the police across the pier where he eventually falls into the sea and drowns.
Filmed on Brighton Pier, there’s lots of outdoors footage and the movie provides coverage of the town and the pier from the early fifties.
