⚽️ Following the fortunes of the two football teams that I support
Since retirement, in December just gone, I’ve got back into watching English football on television (for now).
In particular, I’m focused on the fortunes of the two teams that I have an interest in – Leeds United and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
I’ve followed both since the sixties.
The first game that my dad took me to at Molineux was in 1963, when Stan Cullis was still on the throne.
Simultaneously, while watching Wolves on a regular basis – I went to home and away games, as well as the Central League fixtures at Molineux, and later getting a season ticket in the South Bank – I also fell in love with Don Revie’s Leeds.
When I started work and had my first car, I watched Leeds around the country.
My love affair with both continues to this day, with one currently fighting a relegation battle and the other pushing for promotion.
Can you support two teams?
Well, you can follow as many as you want, and it all depends on what the word ‘support’ means to you.
When you talk with people who say that no you can’t, they often go on to tell you that although they support this team, they also have more than a soft spot for that one or they always look out for the results of another side.
Like most things in life, things aren’t always black and white.
Are they?
