🎥 Time Changer (2002) starring D. David Morin and Gavin Macleod

Set in 1890, Dr. Russell Carlisle (D. David Morin) is a professor at a Bible seminary where he has written a book, and is seeking the seminary endorsement, prior to publishing.

The committee agrees, apart from one man Dr. Norris Anderson (Gavin Macleod), on the basis that in one particular instance, although morality is taught, Jesus isn’t mentioned as the standard.

He is very adamant and stands his ground, as he says it will lead to major issues for future generations.

He invites Carlisle to his home and then we see why he is so strong in his opinion.

His father invented a time machine and he himself has been into the future (100 years on) and seen the moral decay.

Carlisle himself then travels and is exposed to not only the low moral bar of society but also how the lukewarm church has become sucked in.

He then sees for himself that you need an external standard, and as a Christian that has to be Jesus.

Returning to 1890, he amends his book.

The story begins with a small boy, Roger, stealing marbles and Carlisle telling him it’s wrong to steal.

Especially when it’s been raining, food can clog the feeding points and, if not checked daily, will start to rot.

It ends, as far as Carlisle is concerned, with him explaining to the boy that it’s wrong to steal because Jesus says so.

There is short footage after that of Anderson, based on inspiration from something Carlisle said about the end times, looking to send a Bible into the future.

Some dates aren’t working because the end has come, and so he starts reducing the years, a powerful reminder that there will be a conclusion at some point.
