🎣 A pond angling session and just on the right side of the line
As the mild spell continues, so does my small still-water fishing.
Back on the pond that has featured a lot in my recent angling sessions, I was out at first-light, which is usually the case anyway.
It was very slow indeed, but I was on the right side of the line. Just.
Tackle, bait and tactics
Greys Prodigy TX 12’ rod. Shimano 3500M reel. Maxima Chameleon 4lb line.
Home-made 3” float. Drennan Super Specialist size 16 hook.
Fished about three metres from the bank, towards branches in the water. Depth was five-feet.
Fished one/two white maggots over brown crumb and red/white maggots.
Nature notes
Lots of ring-necked parakeet noise from the surrounding woodland, saw just two birds though.
Cormorant over the pond in flight.
Grey wagtail landed on the far bank.
