🎣 Targeting the right species, with the right bait, the right tactics and being in the right place
The air temperature was just above freezing and it was a cold start to the day.
I enjoyed my pond fishing on the last session and so that’s where I returned this time round as well.
That’s what angling should be, isn’t it?
Fish where you want, after all it’s not work is it, where we are told what to do and where to go.
Fishing is a hobby and therefore it’s something that should bring us lots of a pleasure.

I still haven’t blanked yet in December.
The key to that has been targeting the right species, with the right bait, the right tactics and being in the right place.

Greys Prodigy TX 12’ rod. Shimano 3500M reel. Maxima Chameleon 4lb line.
Home-made 3” float. Drennan Super Specialist size 16 hook.
Fished towards overhanging trees in water that was five feet deep, presenting one white maggot on a size 16 hook.
Fished over brown crumb and red/white maggots.
Nature notes
Grey heron overhead in flight over the pond.
Noisy ring-necked parakeets (2) in the immediate area.
A jay landed briefly in tree on the far bank.
Flock of long-tailed tits (c.10) passed through.
