🎣 As Storm Darragh begins, the second angling session of the day
I was writing my match preview at home, for tomorrow’s Cymru Premier game involving The New Saints and Newtown, when I received a message saying that it had been called off due to Storm Darragh.
No problem, I thought to myself, I’ll enjoy the weekend at home and I’ll go fishing right now.
Which is what I did.
I had about ninety minutes and set up on a pool.
I had one bite and one roach.
At least I wasn’t a blanker.
Tackle, bait and tactics
Greys Prodigy TX 12’ rod. Shimano 3500M reel. Maxima Chameleon 4lb line.
Home-made 3” float. Drennan Super Specialist size 16 hook.
Fishing one rod-length from the bank, presenting two red maggots on a size 16 hook in six-feet of water.
Fished over brown crumb and red/white maggots.
Nature notes
Five very noisy ring-necked parakeets overhead in flight.
