🎣 A morning angling session, climate change and an important principle when it comes to fishing location
Another day, another morning and another pond session
I’m enjoying my pond sessions at the moment, in pursuit of roach, and that’s where I headed this morning.
If you’re enjoying something, keep doing it,
It’s a simple rule to apply to your fishing isn’t it?
It’s also helps that I fish mostly alone, which means I don’t have to consider anyone else in regards to where I go, and also when I decide to come back.
This particular session was very, very slow indeed, and so I pushed it beyond my original time allocation, in order to avoid a blank.
I managed to catch and there’s an important principle in the video, as well as the climate change reference.
Tackle, bait and tactics
Greys Prodigy TX 12’ rod. Shimano 3500M reel. Maxima Chameleon 4lb line.
Home-made 3” float. Drennan Super Specialist size 16 hook.
Two rod-lengths from the bank in five feet of water, beneath an overhanging tree.
Fished one/two white maggots over brown crumb and red/white maggots.
Nature notes
One ring-necked parakeet flew into woodland on the far bank.
Announcing its arrival, a vocal raven flew low across the pond.
Kingfisher landed briefly in a tree right next to where I was fishing. It then flew to a branch further along, where it dived twice, although unsuccessfully.
