A not-planned angling session
🎣 Listen to your body
Due to going to bed at 2.00 a.m., following a working football game in Wales, fishing first thing wasn’t on the agenda.
However, my body woke me up before first light and you know what they say about listening to your body.
Therefore, I found myself on the bank of the small pool, where I have spent a lot of time this month.
Mind you, I do say a lot of time, but in reality the sessions are short.
Short as far as quantity is concerned but not quality, because I’ve been fishing in variably at dawn, which gives me a better chance of catching than if I was there during the middle of the day.
As always, there’s more from the session in the video.
🪱 Tackle, bait and tactics
Greys Prodigy TX 12’ rod. Shimano 3500M reel. Maxima Chameleon 4lb line.
Drennan 1.2g waggler. Drennan Super Specialist size 10 hook.
A sharp drop-off from the margins, so fishing in six-feet of water, just off the rod tip.
Initially throwing out a small amount of brown crumb and prawns, I then fed a few loose prawns.
🦆 Nature notes while fishing
Ring-necked parakeet calling in flight. Three sightings, probably the same bird.
There are a couple of clips in the video.
Sparrowhawk chasing a smaller bird into a copse. On this occasion, the prey survived.
