🎣 🩺 Know your body, the one that got away and the ones that didn’t

I had a rough night, and although I felt like death warmed-up first thing in the morning, nevertheless I still went fishing as planned.

There’s more on the importance of knowing your own body and pushing yourself in the video.

On the lake that I’ve been fishing regularly since I began my tench campaign, on arrival I mixed some brown crumb and sweetcorn and threw a couple of balls twenty metres from the bank.

After the lost carp, I went on to bank a couple of tench.

Tackle: Fox Barbel Special 1.5 test curve rod and an Okuma Zeon reel. 6lb Maxima Chameleon, with a six-inch hook-length created by a small shot and an 8mm bead. Above that was a 1/2 ounce lead. Size 10 Drennan Super Specialist hook.

Nature notes: A kingfisher in flight across the lake. Stock dove calling from a tree behind the swim.

I fished for a couple of hours and once I was back home I went straight to bed.

Three hours on from there, I woke up and, although still not quite back on track, I felt much better.

Never neglect the value of rest, recuperation and taking time out.
