🎣 Tench fishing, bite detection, breaking the curse and talking of curses…
It was another beautiful morning, as I made my way to a lake in pursuit of tench.
In fact, the calm conditions were ideal to do some filming regarding a bite detection question that Tim Bryant had posted in my guestbook.
You can see that in the video, as well as following the session in general.
Plus, the curses.
One, which is a lighthearted reference, was broken but the other is of a different nature.
Back to the fishing though, and I presented a single grain of corn over sweetcorn and brown crumb at twenty metres.
A very simple approach, but it works, and I had several tench in the couple of hours that I was there.
Tackle: Fox Barbel Special 1.5 test curve rod and an Okuma Zeon reel. 6lb Maxima Chameleon, with a six-inch hook-length created by a small shot and an 8mm bead. Above that was a 1/2 ounce lead. Size 10 Drennan Super Specialist hook.
Nature notes: Singing skylark over the adjacent field where I parked my car.
