🎣 Blanking with Lee Rudge until a nice carp comes to the rescue
If you follow the thread in the guestbook, you’ll see how the session with Lee Rudge came about.
He had been on the lake for much of the day and, after devouring some beans on toast, I set off to join him for a couple of hours.
It had certainly been a challenging time for Lee when I arrived and that was pretty much how the rest of the afternoon went for both of us.
I was fishing fairly close in with five red maggots over brown crumb, mixed maggots and corn.
No tench on the bank but I did catch a common carp that weighed in at 18lb 4oz.

Tackle: Fox Barbel Special 1.5 test curve rod and an Okuma Zeon reel. 6lb Maxima Chameleon, with a six-inch hook-length created by a small shot and an 8mm bead. Above that was a 1/2 ounce lead. Size 10 Drennan Super Specialist hook.
