🎣 Tench fishing, feeding and The Curse puts in an appearance
Lee Rudge posted in the guestbook, which included a question about feeding on my current tench campaign.
It’s easier and more descriptive to include replies in the video, therefore once at the water’s edge this morning, that’s exactly what I did.
Fishing at twenty metres from the bank, it’s a comfortable throw as far as the feeding by hand is concerned.
Then, as you can see from the video, a gentle underarm flick and I’m fishing.
I had a run early on that resulted in the fish shedding the hook but the second tench made it all the way to the landing net.
It was a decent one as well, and although I was looking to add more, the unexpected arrival of my friend Ian Clarke, aka The Curse, put an end to that.
Tackle: Fox Barbel Special 1.5 test curve rod and an Okuma Zeon reel. 6lb Maxima Chameleon, with a six-inch hook-length created by a small shot and an 8mm bead. Above that was a 1/2 ounce lead. Size 10 Drennan Super Specialist hook.
Nature notes: Approximately 20 swifts feeding over the lake.
