🎣 Perch and prawn, a match made in heaven

📹 Footage from the water’s edge

I didn’t go to bed until after midnight and, because I was feeling very tired, I did actually set the alarm to wake me at first thing

Often, I don’t need any artificial alert to bring me back into the land of the living, certainly when fishing is concerned anyway.

When the alarm did go off, I was up, got dressed, made a flask and loaded the car, ready to set off for a pond.

There are lots of lilies on there but, as I’ve said on many occasions, there are always gaps between them where you can drop a bait

It’s not deep, just a couple of feet in fact, but keep a low profile and be quiet, and you can certainly get amongst the fish.

I went for a float-fished prawn approach and, as you can see from the video, I did catch.

As well as loose prawns, I also trickled maggots into the spot that I was fishing.

You can follow the season via the video.

If you’ve never fished with prawn, why not give them a go?
