🎣 🐦‍⬛ 🛍️ The Simon Spender tench challenge, five interesting birds, 1099 weeks and shopping

📹 Watch the accompanying video

I find that a challenge in life is always stimulating and motivating, in the sense that you have something to go at, and that’s exactly how I feel about the Simon Spender tench challenge that he gave me.

I’ve got just two weeks to catch a tinca of a certain size (4 1/2 lb) and so I’m pretty focused at the moment to hit the target

That’s why, although the venue isn’t fishing too well, I was back on the lake first thing this morning in pursuit of that benchmark fish.

As you can see from the video, it was a case of mission accomplished.

Tackle: Fox Barbel Special 1.5 test curve rod and an Okuma Zeon reel. 6lb Maxima Chameleon, with a six-inch hook-length created by a small shot and an 8mm bead. Above that was a 1/2 ounce lead. Size 10 Drennan Super Specialist hook.

Nature notes: Initially, two common sandpipers in low flight, just above the surface of the water, from one bank to another. Later, there were five, showing well as they responded to walkers by flying across the pool.

Today is 1099 consecutive Saturdays that I’ve blogged.

It started out as a Saturday-only blog, now there’s something every day, but that includes Saturday which keeps the figure increasing each weekend.

Finally, to round off the blog post and the video, I went shopping…
