🎣 Back on the tough tench trail
As I stated in the previous angling session blog post, I returned on the evening to fish the same lake, after the same species, and hopefully to get something on the bank this time.
All the other anglers that were there first thing themselves had packed away by then, so I was able to get in the same spot that I occupied in the morning.
I threw out balls of brown crumb and sweetcorn, cast out and, as always, settled back with a cup of tea.
It proved to be another tough session and, as per the morning outing, I remain fish-less as I departed the swim.
There was one other angler on there who had been fishing since lunchtime, so certainly more hours than me, and he also blanked as well.
He was telling me he tried four different baits but to no avail.
Tackle: Fox Barbel Special 1.5 test curve rod and an Okuma Zeon reel. 6lb Maxima Chameleon, with a six-inch hook-length created by a small shot and an 8mm bead. Above that was a 1/2 ounce lead. Size 10 Drennan Super Specialist hook.
Nature notes: Adult and juvenile great crested grebe.
