🎣 ⚽️ 🛍️ Fishing with prawn on a pond, football and shopping for tench food
I often write and talk about pushing yourself and that’s exactly what I did today.
After a busy time in the Balkans, and then getting up early the following morning to go fishing, I did have to put my own theory into practice when I set off for a small pond in pursuit of perch.
I went for a float-fished prawn option, dropping a bait between the lilies in two-feet of water.
I fed loose maggots and sections of prawn, cast out, and immediately had a bite which resulted in a fish
This was followed by a second one, so in the first 20 minutes, it had already turned out to be a decent session.
I had a few more perch and a roach, so pretty decent considering it was a short session in the day.
Tackle: Greys Prodigy TX 12’ rod. Shimano 3500M reel. Maxima Chameleon 4lb line. Drennan 1.2g waggler. Drennan Super Specialist size 18 hook.
Nature notes: Two kingfisher sightings. Pair of grey wagtails in typical undulating flight along the pond.
Back home, I watched Connor‘s Quay Nomads on television, as they played Bravo from Slovenia in the UEFA Conference League.
Unfortunately, both them and Bala Town have now exited the European stage.
Then I went shopping with my wife and there’s more on that in the video.
