🇺🇸 The girls are away, the lads are at home and it’s The Civil War
My wife, along with our eldest daughter (and grandchildren), have gone to Burslem for a couple of days to stay with our youngest daughter.
That leaves me and the boy (the Bedlington terrier) at home.
I spent a number of hours watching the documentary series, The Civil War, on television this afternoon and evening.
Released in 1990, I have seen it so many times before, but I never tire of watching it again and again.
My interest in the American Civil War began many years ago, when I went to the USA for the first time.
It was a trip to Gettysburg that massively aroused my desire to find out more about the conflict from the nineteenth century.
Further trips to the country saw me again visit the most famous battlefield of the war, plus other ’attractions’ as well, including Antietam.
