🎣 An afternoon on the Staffordshire/Worcestershire Canal for the penultimate angling session of the year
I’m looking forward very much indeed to 2025, as far as angling is concerned, but in the meantime I’ve still got a couple of sessions to go, including this afternoon‘s visit to the local canal.
This morning I did my last fishing chat of the year for Bayside Radio and my final Welsh football slot.
With my involvement in the latter having come to an end anyway, I won’t be able to contribute in any way, shape or form from now on, as I’m not following Welsh football since retiring before Christmas.
Intending to have a couple of hours up to dark on the canal, the towpaths were very quiet indeed.
On the way, I drove past Himley Hall and noticed that there were hundreds of cars parked, which was a good thing, as they were there and not around the canal.
I mixed some brown crumb and red/white maggots, fishing the boat channel in about five-feet of water, with a single white maggot on the hook.
I had a roach bite at dusk but, unfortunately, that was the only action of the session.
Never mind, there’s always tomorrow.
