🎣 A return to the brook in pursuit of sticklebacks, followed by a full day’s work
Due to circumstances meaning ‘my’ time was very limited, it was back to the small brook at first-light in pursuit of three-spined sticklebacks.
Although it was a short trip, nevertheless it was very rewarding. Even though I ‘only’ caught a trio of fish, it was still enjoyable, especially as it’s been a long time since I was last on the brook.
It was very slow to begin with but once the fish became active, the session was busier, with several very small sticklebacks dropping off the hook as I lifted them from the water.
I would have stayed longer but I had a full day’s work ahead of me. This came unexpectedly just yesterday evening, with a telephone call from someone who runs a business asking me if I was available to help them out.
Well, I am looking for more opportunities to earn money, so the answer was ‘yes’. Although I’m no longer a ‘worker’, I need extra income, and as long as I still feel retired and on the right side of the line, I’m happy.
