Blogging life’s journey: September 2025

🎣 Fishing a tiny brook for the penultimate session of September

With my Bayside Radio angling chat, an hour’s paid work to do and a speaking engagement at a Methodist church, today’s fishing was a short session on a tiny brook.

However, although I didn’t have the usual full flexibility of a clean sheet, the trip that I planned wasn’t exactly one that was second-best in any way.

I love fishing for three-spined sticklebacks and, with the venue in question being very shallow at the best of times, the drought conditions of the summer months have meant I’ve not visited it for some time.

You can, as always, follow the session via the video, where I caught several fish.  With lots of tiny ones making their way to the bank, it looks like it’s been an excellent breeding season on the brook.

I saw two muntjacs as I made my way to the water and there were a couple of noisy ring-necked parakeets in the immediate area.

The video also features footage from my Bayside Radio chat with Jeff Pearson.
