🎣 22 years and 12 weeks later and this time it’s an angling session on the River Stour
Today (Saturday, September 29) marks 22 years and 12 weeks of blogging. There’s nothing significant about that statistic, just to say that, on a personal level, I’m as passionate about blogging now as I was way back on July 5, 2003, when I posted my first entry.
My first blog post was a tench fishing session on a Shropshire lake but, back to the present, I’ve enjoyed my recent sessions to the Staffordshire/Worcestershire Stour very much and that’s where I was at first-light this morning.
The days are now noticeably getting shorter as we move on into autumn. Setting up at 6.30 a.m. I needed artificial light to see what I was doing. Three months ago and I would have already been fishing for a couple of hours at that time.
Whether life in general or angling in particular, it’s all about seasons, as in phases. As we say farewell to one, it’s hello to another.
It wasn’t what you would call a hectic session on the River Stour, but I caught a few fish, with three species on the bank: gudgeon, perch and roach.
There are resident ring-necked parakeets in the area and, as is usually the case, they were very vocal. So, if you’re wondering what the bird noise is for the opening and closing clips of the video, that’s the answer to the question.
