🎣 Seventh Staffs/Worcs Canal fishing with maggots session on the bounce, now it’s time for change so watch this space, as they say

I have been doing so many early morning angling sessions on the bounce, that my body clock has become accustomed to waking of its own accord.

It’s not as if I don’t sleep properly either, because I do. Once my head hits the pillow, I’m off like a hibernating hedgehog in a mass of dead leaves.

After yesterday’s rain, it was back to a dry start on the Staffordshire/Worcestershire Canal. Although I fished in just a polo shirt, it was a fresh morning and I was only just on the right side of not needing a fleece.

I had continual bites during the 2.5 hours session, with plenty of roach and perch on the bank, plus a solitary rudd.

Tackle: Greys Prodigy TX 12’ rod. Shimano 3500M reel. Maxima Chameleon 4lb line. Drennan waggler 0.8g. Drennan Super Specialist size 14 hook.

This was my seventh trip to the canal, armed with maggots, on the bounce. It’s now time for change, so watch this space, as they say.

Nature notes: Several silent ravens overhead in flight. Calling pheasant in field beyond the canal.
