Continuing with my visits to the Staffordshire/Worcestershire Canal, I was once again on the ‘cut’ for a first-light start.

There’s no need to repeat everything in text, as the session is recorded in the video.

I caught three species of fish, with gudgeon, perch and roach all putting in an appearance.

The saga of the wedding rings? Again, all is revealed in the video and, it really is a saga, as the story begins many years ago.

Tackle: Greys Prodigy TX 12’ rod. Shimano 3500M reel. Maxima Chameleon 4lb line. Drennan waggler 0.8g. Drennan Super Specialist size 14 hook.

Nature notes: Two calling ravens in overhead flight. Grey heron on the towpath.
