🎣 A specimen stickleback on rod and line
For the third trip on the bounce, I went brook fishing for three-spined sticklebacks.
It was a very slow session, and I had just one fish drop off as I lifted from the water, and one on the bank.
However, it was 4.5g, which is huge for a stickleback.
I say 4.6g in the video, well it was initially, before the scales settled.
I don’t bother re-recording these things. Warts and all etc.

Tackle: Poachers Pocket mini-rod and reel. Reel line was 4lb Maxima Chameleon straight through. A small shot was nipped on the line, four inches from the Drennan Super Specialist size 16 hook. Bait was a single red/white maggot, which I nipped with scissors.
Nature notes: A couple of song thrushes in the immediate area singing. Lesser celandine in flower alongside the walk to the brook.
