🎣 The heatwave is over, it’s raining and it’s as you were as far as the fishing is concerned
What a difference a day makes. Yesterday we were baking in temperatures that were in the low 30s and, here we are, less than twenty-four hours later, feeling much cooler and being soaked by rain.
Variety is the spice of life, as they say, and that’s certainly the case as far as the British weather is concerned.
I’m enjoying my pond sessions very much indeed and so, after recording The Church at Hiraeth Sunday service, I loaded the car and returned.
Everything was as per the previous visits, presenting one/two maggots in 2.5 feet of water about one rod length from the bank.
I caught lots of perch and roach and, although nothing of any size, it was all good fun.
Tackle: Greys Prodigy TX 12’ rod. Shimano 3500M reel. Maxima Chameleon 4lb line. Drennan waggler 1.2g. Drennan Super Specialist size 14 hook.
Nature notes: Feeding an adult moorhen, as it then gathered maggots/casters to take to its nesting site. Chiffchaff singing in the immediate area.
