🎣 Community café in the morning, and on the Staffordshire/Worcestershire Canal chatting with Chris Jones and his kids, who were fishing, in the evening
We had our monthly community café at church, which was an early-ish start, so as far as fishing was concerned, I went at the opposite end of the day.
It went well, by the way, and while not an enforced segregation, I was on the LEGO table with the men and Debby did crafting with the ladies.
It’s been a while since I cast a bait into the waters of the Staffordshire/Worcestershire Canal and that’s where I headed on this occasion, for a couple of hours late evening, fishing with prawn.
Passing through Wall Heath, I always think of Chris Jones – who I have known for many years – and lo and behold, who is fishing the canal as I made my way on to the towpath.
He was there with his children – Eva, Luca and Leo – and it was great to see them enjoying themselves.
Although I had a couple of enquiries right at the end of the session, they didn’t materialise.
Nevertheless, watching Chris’ kids have a great time fishing was enough to make my day.
As far as my own angling is concerned, there’s always tomorrow…
