🎣 With just three hours sleep, back on the Staffordshire/Worcestershire Canal in pursuit of perch with prawn
After yesterday evening’s blank on the canal, I was determined to ‘right the wrong’ and so, with just three hours sleep, I was back on the bank.
In the same spot, using the same bait, tackle and tactics, I was up for the challenge.
It took a long time – more than two hours – before I had my first bite and, although it wasn’t a huge fish, at least I put the previous blank to bed.
It also proved to be the only fish as well.
The session lasted three hours and there’s more in the video below.
Tackle: Greys Prodigy TX 12’ rod. Shimano 3500M reel. Maxima Chameleon 4lb line. Drennan waggler 1.2g. Drennan Super Specialist size 8 hook.
Nature notes: Two song thrushes in flight as I parked the car and a singing bird in the vicinity of where I fished. Female mandarin duck with five well-developed made their way along the canal, tight to the far bank. Two separate ravens in flight. Kingfisher passed through.
