🎣 Gardening on the road, followed by a fish-filled, action-packed very enjoyable angling session on a pond
The video opens with brief footage from a gardening job that I finished mid-afternoon.
We’re in a very warm spell at the moment and, although I enjoyed it very much, it was also good exercise.
I was really sweating and, although I don’t usually have a shower before I go fishing, on this occasion I made an exception to the rule.
After opening day on the River Severn, it was pond angling this time round.
Considering the conditions, the fact that it was late afternoon and the venue being shallow and clear, I did very well indeed.
Nothing huge but it is always about perspective when it comes to fish sizes.
I lost count of the perch and roach I caught, plus one rudd, that had a tinge of the latter to it, so technically a hybrid.
I fished just off the rod tip in 2.5 feet of water, presenting one maggot over loose maggots/casters.
Tackle: Greys Prodigy TX 12’ rod. Shimano 3500M reel. Maxima Chameleon 4lb line. Drennan waggler 1.2g. Drennan Super Specialist size 14 hook.
Nature notes: Song thrush singing. Female mallard with one young. Raven calling as it passed overhead. Ring-necked parakeet passing through, calling in flight.
