🎣 A return visit to the pond and another enjoyable angling session
You can never have too much of a good thing therefore, after enjoying the pond angling session in my last outing, I returned for more of the same.
This time it was a morning visit, although I was still on the bank just after seven o’clock.
That’s quite a late start for me at present, as I’m usually out and about at dawn, which is three hours earlier.
I was catching up on sleep from a busy day yesterday though, plus I didn’t hit the quilt until after midnight.
The swim I fished was shallow but, with lots of underwater vegetation, it was again fish-filled, albeit with small perch and roach.
I loose fed maggots and flicked the bait out. Fishing just off the rod tip, I didn’t even lift the bail arm.
It was another short, but very enjoyable, session.
Next stop, flowing water, because it’s June 16 tomorrow.
Tackle: Greys Prodigy TX 12’ rod. Shimano 3500M reel. Maxima Chameleon 4lb line. Drennan waggler 1.2g. Drennan Super Specialist size 14 hook.
Nature notes: Song thrush singing, another feeding on grass. Possibly the same birds, as a pair flew across the pond some time later. Pair of moorhens resident.
