Another short – but very sweet – lure session and Tuesday evening football
It’s been a while since I have been lure fishing and I’m certainly making up for lost time.
This time though, I was in a different spot.
Would there be fish present? Would I catch?
Well, the answer to that, as well as written in the heading, is also there in the video.
Once again, another very enjoyable hour or so casting a light lure into a pool.
Nothing of any size on the bank but, nevertheless, great fun and excellent sport on the right gear.
Tackle: Greys G Lite 6’ Spin (4-8 lb), Fox Rage Ultron 2500 reel, 18lb Sufix 832 low vis green braid on reel. Drennan Double Strength 10lb (3m) joined to the braid with a small swivel. Micro jig head 0.7g, size 6 hook. Small rubber fish. All knots (3) blood knots.
Nature notes: Black-headed gulls c.45 in the immediate area. I heard it first, then saw an oystercatcher, as it flew along the bank. Cinnabar moth caterpillar on common ragwort.
I was back on the football pitch on Tuesday evening. I didn’t think about my calf injury this time and, as I remained intact throughout the game, it’s true to say it is behind me.
I almost got a goal as well, which other than actually playing itself, is always my personal target when I play.
On this occasion, I smashed the ball off the post, as well as having two decent attempts that were blocked.
I’m in my 64th year and still going strong.
