🎶 Album Review: Live At London’s Talk Of The Town by the Temptations
Recorded in January 1970 and released six months later on July 24, Live At London’s Talk Of The Town was the fifth live album from the Temptations. It was also the last one for thirty years.
It features classic songs such as Ain’t Too Proud To Beg, Get Ready and My Girl and, while I’m not really a fan of live albums, this one is good. The fact that I listened to it numerous times in the car is testament to that.
Even my wife said, when I told her that I was going to switch to another album said, ‘Good, I won’t have to listen to the Joneses any more’, in reference to one of the tracks.
The album was produced by Norman Smith, who is perhaps better known by many as Hurricane Smith. He had hits with Don’t Let It Die and Oh, Babe, What Would You Say?
Live At London’s Talk Of The Town reached 21 in the USA and the venue, by the way, is The London Hippodrome, as it became known as.
