🎣 Variety is the spice of life: Fishing a small pool
After a couple of sessions on the mighty River Severn and a visit to a huge reservoir, this morning I was on a small pool. Variety is the spice of life, as they say, and that is certainly true as far as fishing is concerned.
I do find that moving from one thing to another certainly keeps the pot of enthusiasm bubbling away nicely and, in this case, the fact that I was going float fishing was certainly a pull. It’s nice to watch a rod tip, but it’s also great to focus on a float as well.
Either way, the common denominator is that you want movement. Whether it’s the twitch on the tip or the disappearance of the waggler, ultimately it’s about getting fish on the bank. This was a very slow session but, I was just on the right side of the line, and that’s always a plus, especially in the winter.
