🎣 A massive game for The New Saints later, first though, some fishing

I’m very much looking forward to the game this evening, involving The New Saints and FC Petrocub of Moldova.

First thing though, I was up nice and early to indulge in another passion of mine, fishing.

On a small pool, where I’ve enjoyed some prawn fishing for perch of late, that’s exactly where I set my stall this morning.

A very simple approach, I fished with a single bait over loose maggots and prawns.

The water is shallow and clear, and while I spotted plenty of roach in the swim, I didn’t see any perch.

I had a bite that ended with a hook-pull, which didn’t surprise me, as roach have significantly smaller mouths than perch.

However, when the float sailed away a second time, I banked a roach, which was actually surprising as it was a small fish but, at least I wasn’t a blanker.
