🎣 A short afternoon angling session on a pond
I didn’t get to bed until after 1.30 a.m. so an early morning angling start wasn’t even on the agenda.
Collecting my granddaughter during early evening meant today’s fishing session was a late afternoon affair.
I targeted a pond that, although I have been on there previously, it’s been a while.
The roach were very obliging as I fished over brown crumb and mixed maggots, enjoying lots of fish until the swim went very quiet towards the end of the session, when a pike moved in.
Tackle: Greys Prodigy TX 12’ rod. Shimano 3500M reel. Maxima Chameleon 4lb line. Debby’s float 2x BB. Drennan Super Specialist size 12 hook.
Nature notes: Feeding maggots to a robin who gathered them to take to its nest. Female mallard with just one tiny duckling.
