🎣 On the Staffordshire/Worcestershire Canal for the second angling session of January 1
It was always my plan to hit the new year running as far as fishing was concerned, and after my morning pool session I finished the day off on the local canal.
It was a short visit, a couple of hours up to dark, and I caught a small roach on the very last cast.
Although I might not have set the angling world alight so far this year, at least I haven’t experienced a blank yet.
Fished the boat channel, beneath overhanging far bank trees, in five feet of water, fishing over brown crumb and red/white maggots, with two red maggots on the hook.
Tackle
Greys Prodigy TX 12’ rod. Shimano 3500M reel. Maxima Chameleon 4lb line. Handmade 3” float. Drennan Super Specialist size 16 hook.
Nature notes
