🎣 More chub fishing on the Severn
I mentioned in the last blog entry that I was doing back-to-back chub sessions on the River Severn.
This time round it was even colder, with the air temperature hitting a high of minus-2C and that was during the day.
Not even an issue though, as I loaded the car and set off for the middle reaches of England’s longest river, although Wales has a big part to play in that distinction.
It was groundhog day as far as the previous session was concerned, with swim, tackle and bait all the same.
Would the blank be replicated though?
Sadly, it was.
No fishing now for two days but I’ll be back on the bank in due course.
Tackle: Fox Barbel Special rod. Okuma Zeon reel. Maxima Chameleon 6lb line. 1/2 ounce lead. Small shot and bead to create a 6 inch hook length. Drennan Super Specialist size 4 hook.
Nature notes: Two ravens in flight. Several goosander on the river. Little grebe. Pregnant muntjac alongside the road near Wombourne on the way back.
