🎣 Another day, another storm and another angling session
Storm Jocelyn battered its way through during the night, with winds in excess of 50mph.
By the approach of first light, when I was up, although it was still very windy, the harshness of the conditions had passed.
The pool I fished hardly had a ripple on its surface.
Choose wisely and you can still go fishing.
Flicking a grain of corn over loose sweetcorn into five feet of water under the top tip, I caught regularly throughout the short session.
You can see some of the fish in the video below.
Tackle: Greys Prodigy TX 12’ rod. Shimano 3500M reel. Maxima Chameleon 4lb line. Drennan 0.6g waggler. Drennan Super Specialist size 12 hook.
Nature notes: Three quiet (they’re often squawking) ring-necked parakeets in circling flight over woodland. Three resident moorhens on the pool and nine visiting mallards.
