🎣 Two angling sessions in one day and why not?
It was very cold at first light and it wasn’t any warmer at the other end of the day either.
The other common denominator was that I went roach fishing during both periods.
The air temperature is having an effect on the still waters especially, and after being partly frozen in the morning, it was 90% covered in ice a few hours later.
I was in the same swim, with exactly the same approach, and again I had a steady stream of roach bites.

Nature notes: Ring-necked parakeets (1,2,2,3) squawking in flight overhead. Two calling ravens in dusk flight.
