🎣 A dusting of snow and the pool partly frozen but as long as your bait’s in the water…

It was not only a cold night – that resulted in the pool I fished being partly frozen – but there was also a light dusting of snow.

After scraping ice and loading the car with tackle, I made my way to the pool and cast out.

The water was about five feet deep and I presented a single grain of corn over loose sweetcorn.

From the off I caught roach, which was my target species, and considering the conditions and the venue, I was happy enough with the session.

Although it was first light, the pool began to freeze even more while I was there.

It was like watching a time-lapse video, as the ice slowly made its way across the surface of the water, except that I was in real time.
